PROJECT 5 LOCATION
INTRODUCTION
Location was a really exciting project because it was so different to anything I have done before. We also collaborated in groups at the beginning which really helped to give a solid foundation of research and images to work from. Together we chose the 'Jam Cafe' in Nottingham as our location to transform and it worked so well because it didn't need loads of editing. These moodboards are a mix of group research and personal research, and they were so useful when I was completing my project.
OVERLAYS
The next step for me in this project was hand drawing some overlays using tracing paper. At this point I was solely focusing on the shop and not the res of the street. I also took it into procreate to look at possible colour combinations.
I then went digital and used photoshop to get an idea of what I wanted the whole street to have on it. I added different shop fronts, newspaper stands and even a milk crate as they were used in the 1950s.

TECHNICAL DRAWING
I'm starting to become more confident with technical drawing so I really enjoyed completing this one. It may have been better to have had the whole shop front a smaller scale because it ended up not looking that different in size to the detail section that I did. I could've also fitted in the newsagent that I designed. My goal was to add more notes in which I definitely did on this drawing compared to my other two.
Unfortunately I struggled to get movement into this storyboard again due to not much happening in the section of script that we had. However I like the overall feel of this storyboard and feel like it is a step up from my previous one.

PROPS LIST AND DRESSING PLAN
This was another new skill that we learnt during this project. It was very simple to understand and a nice way to see everything that would be put on my set.
VISUALS
These visuals were so fun to make as I could play around with the atmosphere that I wanted to create to make this a believable 1950s early morning street scene. I learnt some new skills on photoshop like adding the layer of snow and different blend modes to create a realistic look to the overall picture.
