PROJECT 4 DREAMLAND
INTRODUCTION
MOODBOARDS
'Dreamland' was another project where we had a lot of creative freedom which was exciting. Straight away I knew I wanted to base mine on the Magic Faraway Tree because it was a book I had grown up with. The girl in my story was called Alexandra, an only child who lived in a massive house with her parents.
INITIAL SKETCHES
My first experimentations were just thinking about what would be in Alexandra's bedroom. I knew I wanted it to be quite grand, as she lives in a massive house. The story I stuck with was that she was quite lonely in her big house and wanted some friends, which she makes in her dreams. For these sketches I should've focused more on the specifics of the house, like skirtings and precise detail.
TECHNICAL DRAWING
This technical drawing is an improvement from my first, being neater, more detailed, and overall looks more complete. I really enjoyed drawing this one because I made more effort to make the titles look nice which made a big difference. To improve I still need to add more detail to my notes section.
WHITE MODELLING
Modelling for this project was a very simple process because I printed out my tech drawings and used them to create the white model. This made it really precise and neat-looking. The trickiest part was cutting out the window detail as the panels were very thin and fiddly but it was definitely worth it. My favourite parts are the detail on the door and fireplace.

STORYBOARD
This project was the first time we had to do a storyboard. To start with mine was pencil drawn and scanned in, but I went back to improve it digitally and I'm happy with the outcome. I think something I should work on is getting more movement into it as it's very still looking at the moment. However I like the range of angles that I explored and there is a good variety of shots.
